Without a doubt, this is the most non-derivative release I’ve had to review here. A quite fresh and unconventional album. Although it has about 20 tracks, it clocks in at about 20 minutes, meaning they are 20 very short tracks.

Its hard to put your finger down on what Baron’s trademark sound really is. Well most of these short tracks comprise of hard, abstract beats and playful, cheery melodies. I guess you could call it a sort of “whimsical glitch”. (Hope that doesn’t sound too silly). The only other artist I could barely connect to this style is Mr 76ix of SKAM Records.

Even within these short tracks, Baron has been able to squeeze in lots of variety and little sonic ‘diversions’. The track “Battle Music” is quite hilarious, almost a straight out rock song with some funny vocals.

So don’t take electronic music too seriously - listen to Baron Knoxburry!
