Take two portions space dust, three quarters cup melody, mix them together and stir briskly. Then pour in one ounce of noise and you’ve got Sky Diary from United Dust.

If you thought all the music out there that incorporates noise is harsh, then the Sky Diary will prove that this is indeed not the case. The album itself is filled with warm melodies coupled with a lo-fi feel. The mood is sometimes pensive but often times also uplifting in a strange way. United Dust adds just enough noise to make things interesting while incorporating normal musical structures. In my opinion, one of the best thing about those noise filled melodies on the album is that you almost never get bored of them.

A very melodic noise album that’s for certain and one that deserves to be listened to.

Notable tracks:
We Leveled the Super City
Short but great sounding track. Exciting in all the right ways.

Crater Center
Sounds just like something Aphex Twin would make. A sort of noise infused old school IDM track

Gemini, Your Circuits are Blown
Noise atmospherics in all its glory.

H jump
Halo Jump maybe? I liked the second part of this track the best where a sort of grating noise comes into play.

Netlabel: Lucha Libre Recordings
