Happy New Year to all Gratisvibes readers. Welcome to 2007. May we have more great music for the year and years to come.

We’ve been rather slow on postings during the last month and we’ll be back to regular postings as usual this month. We apologise for that and appreciate your continuous support for the site.

We will be having a series of site changes and improvements soon with the aim of creating a community for electronic music fans like us. Stay tuned for the upcoming changes.

On to the review of this release, No Name by PolarProject.

Even though generally this is an IDM release, the sound of this release is more ambient, more experiental and less melodic as most IDMs that we’ve heard. The structure of the songs are usually pretty rhythmic and the beats are somewhat danceable, unlike most IDM.

Dim the lights, get yourself a glass of wine, play No Name loud, and most importantly, relax and unwind; you’ll like this album the more you listen to it.

Some of the notable tracks:
I Just Walk
I personally like this track a lot even on its own even though I believe it should be a prelude to the album. Nicely done soundscape. It gets really good when it hits the 4-min mark.

Corner and Reflections
The 2nd and 3rd track of the album. With constant kick beats, these 2 tracks are sure to get anyone’s heads nodding to the beats. Excellent tracks to chill out to.
