The musical journey starts off in a subtle manner in a music box tune before evolving into a full on assault of psychedelic lead lines and pads. The first track has a spooky feel to it. It features a nasal wind sound that almost sounds like a voice that beckons you forward to listen. It wouldn’t surprise me if vampires licensed this music for hypnotizing their victims. The first and second tracks set the mood for the rest of the album which is somewhat brooding. Your journey after this will involve more intricate drum lines, funny voices, psychedelic melodies and if you’re lucky, you may spot a vampire behind you.
Favourite Tracks:
03. Organic Gardening
The third track in the mix was the high point of my listen to the album. The track starts off in a jerky manner before succumbing to the forces of dark machines that transform it to a highly danceable beat 4/4 before breaking down into a non dance beat again. My favourite part of the track was how it featured an initially subdued quick pulsating bassline that was slowly opened up as the track progressed. This together with the screaming synths were very cool to listen to.
04. Little Trees and Fantasies
Unlike a lot of other albums, the ending of this album is very strong. The delayed guitar and synth melodies together with the use of bongos and a more acoustic drum sound and rock-esque drumming added a sort of space rock feeling to this track. This track just slowly builds layer upon layer until it hits a crescendo of sonic goodness.
Thanks, cadra for the recommendation.
