Remember how you used to laugh when you see kids playing on one of those casio keyboards at the mall? Well, I did. I guess the subject matter isn’t as laughable on this EP as it is gorgeous sounding. The Text Adventure from Glasgow, Scotland brings to us a electropop EP filled with casio keyboard melodies, folk guitar sounds and cute vocals. Yes, you heard that. I said cute. The vocals are cute, the sounds are cute, the whole album is pop gold for your soul. Playful but nonsensical lyrics like “I’ll be the scarf around your neck” complete the magic.
Favourite tracks:
I’m a Shoe, I miss you
Titles do matter in songs. They change your perception. This shoe got my attention. Although the song talks more about a robot than a shoe.
Kill Meow
The Casio keyboard patch used for this track got my attention. This track stands out from the whole album because it sounds so different. It has something to do with that casio keyboard I tell you. The line “No Need for Umbrellas”
