Plosive’s compilation of his remixes of other artists on the one label is a testament to the strongly collaborative nature of the netlabel ethic. Whereas remixes would normally be filler material on 12″ dance records or artists desperately trying to namecheck each other, this compilation is good enough to stand on its own.
Plosive adds his delicate touch all over this release, with ethereal yet euphoric textures on tracks such as “himanka” and “nio”. Its not all smooth ambient synth slabs as you can hear the mid tempo percussion glitching away busily in the background. The overall mood of the release is serene and reflective with intricate melodies that are given time and space to get into your head.
The closing track “juniper trees” rounds the release off with a nice calming ambient piece with a beautiful arpeggio.
